The History
of Magic Farm Arabians

Maaxine
(Maajestic Moon x Mi Meschel)
Owned & loved by my sister Barbara Byram
Every horse farm has a barn, stars at night, sun in
the morning, the nicker of horses at feeding time,
the smells of hay and warm horses, and the feel of
the power of a horse when riding. But what makes a
farm Magic?
It all started with Valhalla Arabians built by Pete
and Rita Clausen, and the acquisition of the
foundation horses. The pairing of one of the
Valhalla foundation mares and a breeding purchased
at a Wishing Star Auction produced the beautiful
filly, Mi Meschel, a Region V Champion Sweepstakes
Filly.
With
the beautiful Arabians in hand there was no farm
until the opportunity to purchase acreage north of
Spokane arrived. Now we had the land on which to
move the horses. A new barn, fences and outdoor
arena and 160 acres of state land to ride the dream
became a reality.
My niece, Stephanie loved
the farm and spent hours riding, resting, and walking in the woods. She
always left the farm feeling refreshed and healthier than when she
arrived.
She started calling her
visits to the farm “her trips to the Magic Farm”, hence the name.
Stephanie lost her battle
with cancer in 2001. The members of Stephanie’s family retreated to the
“Magic Farm’ to heal with the horses. Cleaning stalls, brushing, and
riding horses, building fences and walking the trails worked its Magic on
all.
The horses at Magic Farm
grew in numbers as Mi Meschel produced three beautiful fillies. Maaxine,
is in dressage training in the Seattle area. Aamber, is a beautiful
chestnut mare beginning her training under saddle and will be bred. Mi
Kastena was sold as a brood mare and we are looking forward to her first
foal.
From the mouth of a 9 year
old girl, whose wisdom is beyond her years:
“There are people who love
horses and there are people who don’t!”
We must not forget the
wonderful geldings without how would the entire family ride and have so
much fun.
